La quinta copia is a publication by Asunción Casa Editora taking Victor Basterra´s pictures and testimony as a starting point. Víctor Basterra was desaparecido by the last military government in Argentina for more than four years in Escuela de Mecánica de la Armada, where he carried forced labor in the photography lab. During this time, he had to make mainly ID portraits of his captors. He made an extra copy and hidden them from inspection in photographic paper envelopes. La quinta copia is our tribute to his courage.
